This year, Rudy Savich's 200-mile bike ride was held on Saturday, July 1, and was a benefit for the District 10 Pro Bono Project. This was the seventh annual ride.

We had 11 riders complete the double-century ride:
Kevin Hayes
Karen Bayne
Dave Tanner
Doug Edwards
Brian Fitzgerald
Stan Ellis
Duane Rogers
Rudy Savich
Steve Emery
Joe Anderson
Steve Galvin
Steve Galvin was our "invisible" rider, having officially dropped out of the group after feeling queasy shortly before lunchtime. But he recovered, and kept plugging away on his own about 5--7 miles behind, keeping up with the overall pace in the afternoon heat by taking fewer breaks. He ran out of daylight just a few miles from the end, having logged 196 miles. But his son encouraged him to complete the 200, and rode with him round and round their church parking lot late at night, to get the final 4 miles.
In addition, a 17-year-old exchange student from Mexico, Abraxas Segundo, managed to complete a 100-mile century ride, even though he had started seriously riding only a couple of months before.
The SAG crew of Eric Isaacson, Bet Savich, and Wilma Edwards laid out the food and drink, and provided general assistance along the way.
